Former substitute teacher indicted on sexual assault, battery charges

A former substitute teacher at Carver High School was indicted Tuesday on accusations he inappropriately touched a female student.

A Muscogee County grand jury indicted Roderick Branscomb, 36, on two charges of sexual battery and one count of sexual assault of a person in custody, court records state.

The student, then 18 years old, filed a complaint with Columbus police March 19, 2007. The indictment states that he inappropriately touched her that day while at Carver High.
