Amazing Race 2010: Who got eliminated in the Amazing Race Season 17 Episode 8?

The teams start Leg 8 from the Peter and Paul Fortress in Saint Petersburg, Russia, where they learn they must fly to Muscat, Oman. Once there, they must get to a tower, where they'll find a man who gives them an ingot with a time on it. The time is when they can climb the tower to get their next clue.

Nat and Kat head to a travel agent, as do the other teams. Everyone is searching for the earliest flight, though Chad and Stephanie are the last to leave, since they came in last in the previous leg.

A quick shot of their bedroom door reveals that Chad's still sleeping. Both of them are 58 minutes late to the starting point, and all the other teams are at the airport talking about them.

Chad and Stephanie finally wake up, two hours late, and get their clue telling them to go to Muscat.

Nat and Kat and Brook and Claire have seats on the first flight. The others are on the second flight, except for Chad and Stephanie. They finally get a flight that will get them to Muscat about 10 minutes after most of the teams.

The first flight arrives, and the teams head for the cabs. The remaining teams then arrive, and everyone is surprised to see Chad and Stephanie.

Nat and Kat and Brook and Claire arrive first, and they get their ingots. They lie down and start sleeping. The other teams then start to arrive, and Chad and Stephanie manage to get a time before some other teams.

The sun rises, and Chad takes Stephanie for a walk. After a brief conversation, he gets down on one knee and is about to propose. The other teams watch and clap when Stephanie runs back to the group. Chad then tells everyone that the ring he gave her used to be his mom's.

The first teams climb the tower and get their clue, which tells them to go to Jebel Shams, the tallest mountain in the country. Once there, a driver will take them to the top along treacherous roads. At the top, they'll get their next clue.

The teams ask different locals for directions, though Chad and Stephanie are the first team to reach the mountain. They get to the top and open the clue, which tells them to rappel more than 500 feet down the mountain. At the bottom, one of the team members must search among hundreds of lamps until they find the one with Aladdin's ring in it.

Jill and Thomas get to the top of the mountain second, and Jill starts her descent. Chad's made it to the lamps and he starts searching them. Jill reaches the bottom, and Chad finds his ring. They get their next clue, which tells them to drive to a Stack of Books - a monument that resembles books stacked on top of each other - in Nizwa.

Jill then finds a ring and she and Thomas drive off.

Nick and Vicki then arrive as do Brook and Claire. Gary and Mallory and Nat and Kat are lost.

Chad and Stephanie make it to the Stack of Books and get the leg's Detour: Water Table or Wedding Table. In Water, they must fill a tank with water, traverse the maze-like streets of the town and deliver it to a specific home.

In Wedding, the teams must buy 25 frozen chickens and other ingredients, present the bride and groom with the traditional dish and they'll then get the next clue.

Nick and Vicki have a flat tire, though Nick fixes it quickly and they move on.

Chad and Stephanie and Jill and Thomas both pick Water. They fill up the water truck and hop on board with their chosen drivers and start to hunt for their specific homes.

Jill and Thomas stumble upon the cousin of the person they need to find. They make the connection, and successfully get the water to their home.

They must now go to the Muttrah Souq - a market. Once there, they have to find the man who will give them frankincense. After getting it, they have to find the famous Ali Baba, where they'll get their next clue.

Nat and Kat finally get the ring inside the lamp and head toward their next clue. Gary and Mallory have just arrived at the rappeling station.

Jill and Thomas find the man with frankincense and begin their search for Ali Baba. Chad and Stephanie are right behind them in the marketplace.

Brook and Claire are in third place after finishing Water. Nick and Vicki are in fourth place after delivering their water.

Jill and Thomas deliver their frankincense and learn the location of the next Pit Stop: the Al Alam Palace. Chad and Stephanie, though, are right behind them. Jill and Thomas, however, make it to the Pit Stop first, but Phil gives them a 30 minute penalty because they paid a taxi driver to lead them.

That means Chad and Stephanie are first place. They win a trip for two to Belize. Jill and Thomas wait out their penalty and are second place.

Nick and Vicki are third place. Brook and Claire are fourth place.Gary and Mallory have apparently caught up to Nat and Kat, though it's the doctors who make it to the Pit Stop first. Nat and Kat are fifth place.

Gary and Mallory are last place and are eliminated.
