While the original "Tron" wasn't a big hit for Disney, it developed a cult following.
Released in 1982, it was one of the first movies to use computer graphics, and had sets designed by French comic book artist Jean Giraud, who is also known as Moebius. Renown designer Syd Mead created the vehicles. The movie was one of the most influential in the then fledgling computer animation industry.
With "Tron: Legacy" opening Dec. 17, the Coca-Cola Space Science Center, 701 Front Ave., will show the original movie at 7 p.m. Dec. 15. If you get there after 7 p.m., you won't get in, say the CCSSC folks. There are only 110 seats in the Omnisphere Theatre, so get there early.
