A U.S. Army helicopter pilot was charged with pandering Sunday afternoon after he picked up a prostitute at Hamilton Road and 26th Street, Columbus police said.
Officers spotted a woman they say is a known prostitute approach the passenger side of a green Ford Thunderbird around 6 p.m. She then went to the passenger side of the car and got into the front seat, reports state.
Police stopped the vehicle at Hamilton Road and 32nd Street. Officers spoke with the man, identified in reports as 39-year-old Matthew Alan Jones, who told them he picked up the woman for oral sex, reports state.
The woman, identified in reports as 23-year-old Veronica Wright, told officers the man was a customer and had agreed to give her $20 for oral sex, police said.

Police then arrested Jones on a charge of pandering and Wright on a prostitution count. Both were taken to the Muscogee County Jail.
