The first nationally televised commitment on signing day went Auburn's way.
Erique Florence, a four-star safety from Valley, Ala., announced on ESPNU that he is signing with the Tigers. His letter of intent officially came into the Auburn athletic offices moments later.
"I love coach (Gene) Chizik and I think great things are going to happen at Auburn," he said.
The 6-foot-2, 181-pound Florence played quarterback his senior year, accounting for over 2,000 yards and 22 touchdowns, but he projects as a safety at the college level.
Rivals ranks him as the No. 3 safety nationally, ESPN No. 4 and Scout No. 5.
