Carver's Gabe Wright signs with Auburn

Carver defensive lineman Gabe Wright has chosen to sign with Auburn.

Wright (6-foot-3, 275 pounds) was considered one of the nation’s top defensive linemen by the major recruiting services and chose Auburn over Tennessee and Alabama on Wednesday, which is known as national signing day, at a Carver signing ceremony at Occasions Event Center on Victory Drive.

Wright had 41 tackles last season and was named the 2010 Ledger-Enquirer All-Bi-City Defensive Player of the Year as he helped Carver’s defense allow an average of six points per game on its way to a 13-1 trip to the GHSA Class AA state semifinals.
