A couple facing accusations in connection with the January 2009 vehicular homicide of a 19-year-old were indicted on Tuesday by a Muscogee County grand jury.
William McCrary, 38, and Yvonne McCrary, 45, face charges in connection with the Jan. 27, 2009, death of Adrian Jerome Huling, 19, court records state.
Huling was riding a 2008 Shanghai-Shenke scooter south on Amber Drive the night he was struck. A white van turning onto Luna Drive collided with him. Huling was thrown from his bike.
Witnesses described the vehicle as a white 1995 Chrysler Town & Country Van.
According to the indictment, William McCrary caused Huling’s death. He and Yvonne McCrary then tried to conceal the incident by taking the Town & Country away from their home on Jan. 28, 2009. On the same day, they reported that the van had been stolen.
William McCrary faces charges of first-degree vehicular homicide, tampering with evidence, false report of a crime, driving while license suspended and failure to yield right of way. Yvonne McCrary is charged with tampering with evidence and false report of a crime, records state.
