Kiplinger.com has compiled some signs that the economy is on the upswing.

Topping the list is that the sales of boxers and briefs are leveling off.

The Kiplinger report says that when it's tougher to find jobs, men wait longer to replace their underwear and sales that are usually very stable fell nearly 2.5 percent in 2009. Now, they've started to stabilize but it will take awhile to get back to the levels prior to the recession.

Other signs include that more people are starting to play golf again and that there are more divorces. Kiplinger says that during the recession, spatting spouses had a hard time arranging the financing to buy out the partner's stake of businesses and homes as required by property divisions, they stuck it out.
