A Columbus man faces a charge of child molestation after police say he relieved himself in public.
Charles Kenneth Hart, 55, was arrested on accusations he relieved himself in a business’ driveway as a 7-year-old girl watched around 12:15 p.m. Sunday, reports state.
According to reports, Officer Joseph Bridges responded to a report of someone in a black Chevrolet Blazer exposing himself. Bridges spotted and stopped the vehicle on Wellborn Drive near Forest Road. The man who saw the suspect expose himself then came to the scene and identified the suspect.
Police say that the man’s daughter saw the suspect get out of his car at the end of Watkins Drive in the driveway of A Cut Above Landscape Management, unzip his pants, expose and relieve himself in plain view. The girl got her father, who then saw the suspect zip up his pants, get inside his vehicle and drive off.
The suspect told police that he’d been drinking, though he wasn’t charged with DUI, reports state.
Hart is being held under no bond.
