Looking for a fun outdoor activity in March? Pam and Nathan Heald are organizing the first Rails to Trails Healthy Me Challenge on Saturday, March 5.
Described as a family event for a healthier Columbus, the challenge will include a two mile walk/jog, a health fair, picnic and concert featuring four local artists.
Pam Heald said they decided to do the fundraiser after they heard the Rails to Trails, a bike and walking trail that begins downtown and ends on Psalmond Road, was opening soon.
Families who register by March 1 can get a healthy pack, which includes a string bag, T-shirt, water bottle, free bike rental, snacks and coupons. Registration is $20 and all funds raised go to support campus ministries around the world.
Families can also walk and donate during the event, Heald said.
