Columbus police have made two arrests in the September armed robbery of Mr. B’s Liquor Beer & Wine.
O’markeon Kelley, 21, and Ormond Kirkland, 17, face charges in connection with the Sept. 22 robbery in which the suspects fired shots at an officer and the officer returned fire, Lt. Lynn Joiner said.
Two suspects entered the store at 1314 13th St. around 8:30 p.m. Shots were fired at an officer as the suspects ran from the store.
Kelley was arrested Monday outside of Columbus Recorder’s Court in connection with a Jan. 19 carjacking outside of Rainbow Foods, 4105 Buena Vista Road. Kelley was at the court to answer for unrelated charges, police said.
He faces charges of armed robbery, aggravated assault on a police officer, attempted armed robbery, hijacking a motor vehicle and possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime. He has no bond, Muscogee County Jail officials said.
Kirkland was arrested Wednesday. He is charged with armed robbery, aggravated assault on a police officer, aggravated assault, burglary, theft by taking motor vehicle and obstruction of an officer. He also has no bond.
