11:32 — Carver-Montgomery showed why it is No. 1 in the state with a dominating second half in a 78-66 victory over Central in the Central Regional final.
9:36 p.m. — Jeff Davis outscored Central 14-5 in the fourth quarter for a 52-47 victory. Central was held to one field goal in the quarter, by Kristi Mokube at the 6:44 mark. They managed just three throws from that point forward.
8:45 p.m. — Central made five 3-pointers in the first half and lead 31-28. Yasmine Thomas scored seven points in the second quarter for the Lady Red Devils. Portia Watkins has six at the half. Monterika Warren has 13 points for Jeff Davis.
7:54 p.m. — Greensboro beats Sumter County in 3A boys final in overtime. After ceremony and war-ups, Central girls game should start about 8:10 p.m.
6:45 p.m. — The Central basketball teams are here at the Alabama State Acadome for tonight's Class 6A Central Regional finals.
The Central girls face Jeff Davis in a game scheduled for a 7:20 p.m. start. The tournament is running about 40 minutes behind, so look for an 8 p.m. start.
The Central boys will play No. 1 Carver-Montgomery in a game that follows the conclusion of the girls game so look for about a 9:45 p.m. start in that one.
The winners of tonight's games will advance to next week's final four at Birmingham.
