Columbus police: Spencer High student robbed of clothes, everything recovered

A Spencer High School student was robbed of clothes he was carrying as he walked along Rice Street Monday night, reports state.

The 15-year-old student was walking west near Cornell Avenue when he passed by a man known as “Adrian,” who began following the student around 9 p.m. Adrian told the student to drop the bags he was carrying, and the student felt something on his back, police said.

The student turned around, and Adrian told him “his pockets were hurting.” He then cocked a silver pistol and told the student that “it’s going to pop,” police report.

The student dropped his bags, and Adrian took them and ran east on Rice Street. The student saw two other men in the distance, reports state.

Police said that twenty minutes later, Adrian rode by a Walker Street home on a bicycle and threw the bags with all the stolen clothes in a yard. The student recovered his T-shirt, blue jeans and $80 tennis shoes. Adrian and the two other men kept riding bicycles in the area for about an hour.

Adrian is a black man, 18- to 25-years-old. He wore black gym shorts, a white T-shirt and had a low hair cut.
