Rush hour police chase crosses Chattahoochee River

Phenix City police chased a car full of suspects across the Chattahoochee River during rush-hour traffic this evening in a pursuit that ended in a crash in south Columbus, authorities said. No injuries were reported.

Assistant Police Chief Robert Casteel of the Phenix City Police Department said three of the four suspects were arrested by Columbus police after the car crashed on Walker Street. One of the suspects remained at large, Casteel said.

Casteel said Phenix City police had received reports of gunshots being fired on Seale Road.
