Dancing with the Stars: Petra Nemcova, Dmitry Chaplin eliminated on DWTS

The combination of Latin dances to patriotic songs proved too much for supermodel Petra Nemcova and partner Dmitry Chaplin. The couple was eliminated after the fifth week of performances on "Dancing with the Stars." Petra and Dmitry, along with two other couples, received the lowest judges points, 22, on DWTS.Actor Ralph Macchio with partner Karina Smirnoff and former playmate Kendra Wilkinson-Baskett with Louis van Amstel earned enough viewers' votes to keep them in the competition.

"It's been (a) life-changing journey for me," Petra, a tsunami survivor, said. "I met amazing friends and Dmitry put up with me for two months... So many people got inspired because of 'Dancing with the Stars' show and started to do dance-athons at schools to fundraise for Happy Hearts fund and change lives for so many children around the world."

"I'm really proud of Petra because she has come such a long way," partner Dmitry said. In early episodes Dmitry said Petra was "the nicest person" that he'd ever met.

Head judge Len Goodman was sorry to see Petra leave. When she was listed as "in jeopardy" of being eliminated, Len said "Petra's been fantastic. Two weeks ago she was leading." He referred to one of Petra's dances as "brilliant."

Recap from week five:

Week five of Season 12 of "Dancing with the Stars" paired Patriotic songs with Latin dances. Yeah, it was weird. But Hines Ward and partner Kym Johnson embraced the weirdness and earned 27 out of 30 points, the highest judges' score of the episode. Only one point behind are Chelsea Kane, Romeo and Chris Jericho with 26 points. Kirstie Alley earned 23. Petra Nemcova, Ralph Macchio and Kendra Wilkinson-Baskett received the lowest points of the episode, 22.

Week five dances:

Disney star Chelsea Kane and Mark Ballas earned 26 points (9s from Carrie Ann and 8 from Len) for their samba to "Party in the USA."

Bruno: "You had all the go-for-it positive energy of America and the sizzle of Brazil."

Carrie Ann: "You dance so well together. This was fantastic."

Len: "Yum, yum what-a bum. Honestly this was a party... Real good fun."

Former playmate Kendra Wilkinson-Baskett and Louis van Amstel received 22 points (8 from Carrie Ann and 7s from Len and Bruno) for their foxtrot to "Yankee Doodle Dandy." Its the 1000th competitive dance on the show.

Len: "Good news. It's much better than last week... It was fun and it was entertaining."

Bruno: "Cute. Sweet as apple pie."

Carrie Ann: "This is the most confident I've ever seen you... You're a fighter... Most patriotic dance of the night."

Actress Kirstie Alley and Maksim Chmerkovskiy managed to say upright and in their shoes in their foxtrot to "American Woman" which earned 23 points (8 from Carrie Ann and Bruno and 7 from Len). Last week Kirstie lost a shoe during her dance and the previous week Maks fell. Kirstie called in the "Dance Doctor" John Travolta to give them tips during rehearsals. He suggested Kirstie wear hightop sneakers, Maks quit dragging her across the floor and some off-camera romance. They didn't follow his advice but Maks danced shirtless which earned major applause from the women in the audience.

Carrie Ann: "It was bold. It was ambitious. It was a little boarder-line crazy... I think it was your best dance ever."

Len: "It had attitude. It had basic steps, which I like to see... It wasn't my cup of tea. There was very little excellent about the whole thing."

Bruno: "The American woman and the Russian gigolo... Do you take bookings?" Maks replied that he "was very expensive."

NFL star Hines Ward and Kym Johnson earned 27 points (9 from each judge) for their rumba to "God Bless the USA."

Bruno: "Just the right amount of sensuality to make the ladies swoon."

Carrie Ann: "You have the best action I have seen in a long time."

Len: "It has a naturalness about it... I think probably for me that's your best dance."

Singer Romeo and Chelsie Hightower received 26 points (9 from Carrie Ann and Bruno and 8 Len) for their "New York, New York" foxtrot.

Len: "I think you're on the right track. You're a very charming chap."

Bruno: "I've never seen a foxtrot so cheeky."

Carrie Ann: "That was so cool and so sophisticated."

Supermodel Petra Nemcova and Dmitry Chaplin earned 22 points (8 from Bruno and 7s from Carrie Ann and Len) for their quickstep to "Viva Las Vegas."

Carrie Ann: "I love watching... You had a few stumbles."

Len: "It's a very fast dance and I think you coped very well."

Bruno: "You were like the golden goddess of speed."

WWE star Chris Jericho and Cheryl Burke performed a Viennese Waltz to "America the Beautiful" for 26 points (9 each from Carrie Ann and Bruno and 8 from Len.) Chris got his first 9s of the season, but he seemed more excited to get an 8 from Len, who only gave him a 7 last week.

Bruno: "Big yet graceful.. Absolutely wonderful."

Carrie Ann: "You're a contender, my friend."

Len: "It's so nice to see Cheryl showing off the rocky mountains there... It was a little bit flat footed. You'll get an 8 when you deserve an 8."

Actor Ralph Macchio and partner Karina Smirnoff received 22 points (8 from Carrie Ann and 7 from Bruno and Len) for their Brazilian Samba to "Sweet Home Alabama."

Len: "It wasn't terrible but you've got to get hips, you've got to get rhythm."

Bruno: "It needs fire down below, man... Get these hips going... Give me sex, man"

Carrie Ann: "I think that was a great entertaining performance."

When he was eliminated, Sugar Ray said: "That's life and I put up a good fight, and I'll cherish this moment. Great friends. Great people. Great show."

Host Tom Bergeron said when he was talking to head judge Len Goodman at the commercial break, Len referred to Sugar Ray as "the heart of the show this season."

Sugar Ray seemed pleased with the compliment. "I love the spirit of the show. I love the people of this show, and I love what the show means and represents and stands for... I will cherish this."

"This has been a wonderful opportunity for me," Wendy said. Then she characteristically told a joke. "Despite stereotypes, this is one black girl who can't even do the running man," she said. Wendy was the only celebrity who had to fly back and forth from New York to LA each week to film DWTS and her show.
