WLTZ-TV 38 will air "Calliope" on Saturday
"Calliope" is a clown who wants desperately to join her father's circus. She's kind of clumsy but well-meaning.
The brainchild of Rachel Einglett Elliott and Jack Bagley, "Calliope" is a children's show that harkens back to the more innocent days of "Captain Kangaroo" and "Mr. Rogers' Neighborhood."
In Columbus, WLTZ-TV 38 has picked up the show. It will air at 11 a.m. Saturday, starting June 18.
Elliott, 38, used to watch those shows and wanted today's children to experience those kinds of shows.
After being aired on a LaGrange television station, it will now air on LGTV, the LaGrange city government cable-access channel. The show will air at 10:30 a.m. and 4 p.m. Monday-Friday and 9 a.m. Saturday-Sunday.
Each episode shows Calliope learning life lessons in values and morals, using puppets.
