Columbus Police: Women arrested for shoplifting

At approximately 6 p.m. Wednesday, three women were arrested in Columbus for shoplifting at TJ Maxx on Whittlesey Blvd.

The women were Lacey Lewis, 27, Taneisha Dowdell, 20, and Rosetta Shorter, whose age was not given, police reports show.

Officer Alfonza King made the arrest.

When King arrived at the store, the security manager said he saw three females come into the store, and they removed the theft deterrent devices from the clothing. They then put the items under their own clothing, according to a police report.

All three attempted to leave the store without paying. A total of 28 items were uncovered, totaling $478.76.

They are scheduled for a Recorder's Court hearing at 9 a.m. today.
