A Columbus man was killed Monday in Troup County while working underneath his tractor trailer near West Point, Ga.
Ronnie Bullard, 30, was pronounced dead at the scene by Troup County Coroner Jeff Cook.
Authorities said Bullard was working on the brakes when two jacks, positioned on gravel, gave way. Sgt. Chad Mann of the Troup County Sheriff's Office said the truck came to a rest on the man's chest.
A witness spotted Bullard and ran to a neighbor's house to call the authorities. First responders sought to revive Bullard using CPR but couldn't, Mann said.
