The Family Theatre will present "Anne of Avonlea," which tells the story of Anne Shirley from age 16-18. The sequel to "Anne of Green Gables," tells the story of Anne during her first days as a teacher at Avonlea School. She later goes to Redmond College.
The plays are based on the books by Lucy Maud Montgomery that were published in the early 1900s.
There are also flashbacks to her life as a young girl and how she went to live at Green Gables.
The play can be seen in the theater annex of Rose Hill Baptist Church, 2100 Hamilton Road. The play is rated G.
It can be seen at 7:30 p.m. Aug. 19-20 and Aug. 26-27.
Tickets are $10, $8 for seniors and military personnel, $6 for sudents and $35 for a family. Admission includes free desserts during intermission.
Patrons may bring their dinners. Soft drinks and popcorn will be available for sale.
