Smiths Station High School graduate to appear on TLC's 'Say Yes to the Dress'

Hannah Harris doesn’t know how her “Say Yes to the Dress: Atlanta” segment will be edited, but she says fans shouldn’t expect a major meltdown.

“Nothing bad happened. I ended up staying right on budget and finding a perfect wedding gown,” said Harris, a Smiths Station High School graduate who grew up in the Columbus-Phenix City area.

Harris, 26, now lives in Box Springs, Ga. She will appear on tonight’s episode of “Say Yes to the Dress: Atlanta,” which airs 9 p.m. on TLC.

Harris and her fiancé, 31-year-old Nick Ott, got engaged in December 2010. They plan to get married early next year.

She applied for the show after only seeing bits and pieces of the Atlanta reality TV series, which focuses on women shopping for dresses at a bridal salon. Harris went into the shopping adventure with a large entourage that included her mother, stepmother, future mother-in-law and more.

A TLC summary of the segment says, “When Hannah brings both her mom and stepmom to help her choose a dress, the competition gets fierce.”

Harris, who has a degree in fashion marketing, said the wide selection of gowns felt like a “happy dreamland.”

She and Ott got engaged after a four-year relationship that at one point included a “shut up ring” designed to get Harris to stop asking about marriage. It temporarily worked.

Harris works as a part-time substitute teacher and owns an Internet-based boutique, leanahloo.com
