Columbus Police: Man arrested for stealing pair of house slippers from K-mart

Shawn Devone Martin, 20, was arrested at approximately 5:45 p.m. Wednesday for shoplifting at the Big K K-mart on Macon Road, police reports indicate.

Officer Delate' Odom was dispatched to the store in reference to a shoplifter in custody. Loss prevention officer Michael Ingram said Martin was spotted in the clothing and shoe department, where he selected a pair of brown house slippers.

Martin put on the slippers and tried to exit the store.

Upon his arrival at the Muscogee County Jail, two undershirts were found in the front of Martin's pants, the report states.

The value of the items taken was $24.98.
