Columbus nightlife: Scruffy Murphy's among Maxim's 'best bars near military bases'

Downtown Columbus hangout Scruffy Murphy's, 1037 Broadway, is included in Maxim's list of "best bars near military bases," posted this month. View the list here.

How was the list compiled? "We asked servicemen to help us pick the best bars near military bases," Maxim notes on its website.

Scruffy Murphy's, an Irish pub, is the only local bar included on the list. Maxim's two-sentence summary of the hangout says, "Take that, open-container laws! This bar’s outdoor area lets you soak up sun and suds. For the more vampire-y, the inside’s plenty dark."
