Update: Columbus artist Bo Bartlett conducting a master class

Update: Registration for this workshop is closed.

Mark your calendar: Artist Bo Bartlett conducting a master class next month.

Bartlett, a Columbus native, will conduct his three-day "Holistic Painting" workshop from 9 a.m.-4 p.m. March 23-25 in the Corn Center for the Visual Arts on the Columbus State University RiverPark Campus.

Students will draw and paint from a model, working from the same portrait pose during the weekend.

Bartlett will take students through the process he uses -- creating a painting, drawing using composition, developing a grisaille (using shades of gray) and using a full color palette in natural light.

Besides painting and drawing, Bartlett will talk about painting holistically and he'll demonstrate exercises in blending art and life.

He will also be painting with the students, to let them watch how he goes about creating a painting.

Space is limited, and reservations are recommended.

The workshop fee is $650; Friends of Art members who are at the $100 level and higher is $550.

Lunch is included and provided every day.

Call the CSU department of art at 706-507-8301.
