Weekend activities at the Columbus Ice Rink

Do you have some Dora the Explorer fans at home?

Take the kids to the Columbus Ice Rink, 400 Fourth St., Thursday for a skate session with the popular Nickelodeon star. The public ice skating is 5-7 p.m.

On Friday, public ice skating hours have been extended to 1:30-9 p.m. and on Monday, the hours are 1:30-7 p.m. Also on Monday, there will be Learn to Skate session at 6-7 p.m.

It costs $7, with a $3 skate rental for adults; $5 for children 10 and younger, with a $3 skate rental.

At 9:30 a.m. Saturday, try out for hockey. It's free, but you must register. Registration includes free admission, skate rental and a skating lesson.
