Lee County authorities arrested Phenix City attorney Dana Gentry on Thursday on theft charges, reports state.
Gentry, 39, faces four counts of first-degree theft of property and a count of second-degree theft of property, Lee County sheriff’s Capt. Van Jackson said.
Gentry turned himself in Thursday after he learned about the arrest warrants. He made his $23,000 bond that day, Jackson said.
Thursday’s arrest was the third time Gentry’s been in custody in five months. In September, Gentry was arrested for unlawful possession of a forged instrument and criminal simulation. He again was arrested in November on a first-degree theft of property charge, Jackson added.
“All of these cases stem from situations associated with Gentry’s law firm’s business practices,” the captain said. “These cases are still under investigation.”
