A man who pleaded guilty Monday to two counts of child molestation was sentenced to five years in prison, followed by 15 years’ probation.
Willie Ceaser, 49, faced a maximum of 40 years’ incarceration on both counts. He’s been in the Muscogee County Jail since May, attorneys said.
Assistant District Attorney David Helmick said Ceaser lived with the 9-year-old girl he molested, her mother and several other children.
“When (the mother) was at work, the defendant would molest her daughter,” Helmick added. “He would do that when the other children were generally asleep.”
Helmick said Ceaser also would show the girl adult movies.
“It’s wrong what he did to my daughter,” the mother said Monday. “I’m just trying to get her help.”
Defense attorney Rachelle Hunter said her client cared for six children, and that the molestation happened when all of them were in the home. Hunter called Ceaser’s admission to the child molestation a best-interest plea.
