A woman who heard a burglar Saturday night inside her Hawthorne Drive home told the intruder she’d call police, Columbus police said.
The 33-year-old woman was lying in bed inside her home about 10:25 p.m. when she heard something “messing” with a window screen in a nearby room. She thought it was one of her cats until she heard someone’s footsteps on the hardwood floors of the nearby room, reports state.
Police say the woman’s bedroom door was closed, and she grabbed the door knob to keep the burglar from getting to her. She then shouted at the intruder and told the person she’d call police.
The woman heard a man’s voice, but couldn’t understand what he said.
Reports state nothing was missing from the woman’s home. There is no suspect description, and there have been no arrests.
