Like something about Columbus? Put it in a photo.
That's part of the message representatives from the Columbus Convention and Visitors Bureau announced today at a news conference.
The conference focused on "My Columbus GA," a new public service campaign designed to create local advocates for the city and in turn bolster tourism.
"My Columbus GA" includes a social media component that relies on sites like Facebook and Pinterest. A social media-centered photo contest is under way in conjunction with the campaign. Learn more here.
The campaign also spans promotional efforts via traditional media. During today's news conference, guests saw posters with images like local outdoor enthusiasts accompanied by this line: "My Columbus is for outsiders."
The posters also featured messages like, "The memories you never forget. Experience that feeling in Columbus. We're expecting you."
