The 2012 Black Marriage Day will be celebrated at the Liberty Theatre, 823 Eighth Ave., at 3 p.m. March 25.
The speaker is Pastor Marlon Scott Sr. of Emanuel Christian Community Church. The church was founded with just four members in December, 2003. Now, there are more than 400 members.
The church has successful outreach programs in Columbus and is known as "the place where family matters and people count."
Besides his work as a minister, Scott is the chaplain for The Medical Center, Doctors Hospital, the John B. Amos Cancer Center and Hughston Hospital. He won the Chairman's Award of Excellence in 2009 for his loyalty and outstanding service.

Scott is married to Shemel Bloom Scott and the couple has two children.
