A man accused of picking flowers from the yards of homes in the downtown historic district faces charges of loitering and theft by receiving stolen property, Columbus police said.

Brian David Flynn, 58, was arrested about 4 p.m. Monday at Seventh Street and First Avenue, reports state.

Police say Flynn's been seen trespassing through people's yards in the area, and residents have been told to call officers if they spot Flynn.

Someone called police Monday when he spotted Flynn in the 700 block of First Avenue. Officers were told that Flynn was picking flowers from people's yards, and he had fresh cut flowers when officers met with him, reports state.
