One day after Inquirer writes about dangerous trees, DOT is taking them down

The day after the Ledger Inquirer wrote about trees blocking an exit sign on the J.R. Allen Parkway, a Department of Transportation crew was on the scene, cutting pines back in the roadside right of way.

The crew, which included a busload of state prisoners, several trucks and a cherry picker, had one lane of the highway closed and traffic backed up onto the bridge into Phenix City.
