Police have arrested a man suspected of shooting a 16-year-old girl at Lakebottom Park Saturday.
Police said Jonathan Jawon Williams, 19, turned himself in at around noon. He was charged with aggravated assault and possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime.
The shooting took place at 4:44 p.m. Saturday. The girl, a Jordan High student, was shot in the left knee and taken to The Medical Center. Police were on the scene minutes after the shooting and cordoned off a section of the parking lot and another area west of it.
According to a police report, a 16-year-old girl, also a Jordan High student, told police that she and the victim were walking in the park when they observed a black male with a silver handgun squat down behind a car.

The student told police that they began to run when they heard gunshots. The victim fell to the ground and realized that she had been shot.
Williams is scheduled to appear in Columbus Recorder's Court on March 24 at 9 a.m.
