Here’s a reason to think twice before giving someone a ride.
James C. Hopson, 31, was charged Tuesday with theft by receiving stolen property, a felony, police said.
According to reports, someone stole a $1,260 saw from a home on March 10. Two days later, two men went to a Columbus pawn shop with the saw. Video surveillance caught both men on tape. One of them wasn’t identified on the tape, but the other was ID’d as Hopson.
Police spoke with Hopson on Tuesday. Hopson said he gave the other man a ride for $100. Officers then arrested Hopson at his home, reports state.

Hopson remained in jail Thursday morning, records show.
