A “100 Hooded Men March” to bring attention to the Trayvon Martin case is scheduled for March 31 in Columbus.
Martin, 17, died Feb. 26 after he was shot by a neighborhood crime watch captain on patrol in a gated townhouse community in Sanford, Fla. The shooter, George Zimmerman, hasn’t been arrested. The case has garnered national attention and calls for Zimmerman’s arrest.
The Columbus march is scheduled for 10 a.m. March 31 at the Bradley Theatre, 1241 Broadway. Attendees are asked to wear a gray hoodie and blue jeans.
A program will follow at the Government Center after the march, said Lazbri Akpuchukwu, president of the Collegiate 100 Black Men of Columbus.
