A fire gutted a vacant Third Avenue home Tuesday night, though no one was hurt in the blaze, Columbus Fire & EMS said.
Firefighters responded to 2008 Third Avenue, just north of Talbotton Road, about 10 p.m. Tuesday. When they arrived, they found the home completely involved in flames, said Battalion Chief Keith Watson.
No one lives at the house, and no one was injured in the fire, Watson added.
It took firefighters about 15 minutes to control the blaze.

“It’s totalled,” Watson said. “It’s still standing, but that’s it.”
The cause and origin of the fire are under investigation.
