Columbus police: Armed man robbed while taking out trash at apartment complex

An armed man was robbed early Tuesday as he took out the trash at his apartment complex, Columbus police said.

The 26-year-old was outside the Grand Reserve, 1700 Fountain Court, taking out his trash about 2:30 a.m. when he was approached by a gunman. The suspect pointed a pistol to the man’s head, and robbed him of his $500 silver 9 mm and two watches worth a total of $200, reports state.

The man was uninjured, police said.

Police say the suspect is a black man. No further description is given.
