CSU will present "Rent" next season

Larry Dooley, chair of the Columbus State University department of theater, announced the 2012-13 season Thursday night.

The CSU summer season, presented by the Columbus Repertory Co., will present two shows.

The first show is "The Great American Trailer Park Musical" at 7:30 p.m. June 8-9, June 15-16 and June 22-23 and 2 p.m. June 10 and June 17. The musical has been described as "'South Park' meets 'Desperate Housewives.'"

The second show is "Dora the Explorer Live! Dora's Pirate Adventure" at 10 a.m. June 12-16 and June 19-23 and 2 p.m. June 24.

The fall shows are:

"Miss Nelson is Missing!," a children's show, 10 a.m. and 7:30 p.m. Sept. 6-8 and 2 p.m. Sept. 9.

"Anton in Show Business," 7:30 p.m. Sept. 20-22 and 2 p.m. Sept. 23.

"Circle Mirror Transformation," 7:30 p.m. Oct. 18-20 and 2 p.m. Oct. 21.

"Amadeus," 7:30 p.m. Nov. 9-10 and Nov. 15-17 and 2 p.m. Nov. 11.

The spring shows are:

"Diary of a Worm, a Spider and a Fly," a children's show, 10 a.m. and 7:30 p.m. Jan. 17-19 and 2 p.m. Jan. 20.

"Beggars in the House of Plenty," 7:30 p.m. Jan. 31-Feb. 2 and 2 p.m. Feb. 3.

"Rent," 7:30 p.m. March 22-23 and March 28-30 and 2 p.m. March 24.
