Suspect spotted relieving himself accused of public indecency

A man spotted relieving himself outside a downtown Columbus apartment Tuesday morning is accused of public indecency, police reports state.

The suspect was seen outside Columbus Gardens Apartments, 425 Third Ave., about 8:40 a.m. An apartment resident was outside at the time, and he saw the suspect relieving himself near a Dumpster, reports state.

The apartment resident confronted the suspect, who grew angry and said to “get out from behind me.” The suspect then made quick, aggressive movements toward the resident before running from the area, police said.

The resident told police the suspect doesn’t live at the apartments, but he’s often in the area.

Police say the suspect is a black man in his 40s. He wore a gray sweater, blue jeans and a blue hat.
