Suspect gets nothing in robbery attempt at Subway

A suspect got nothing in a robbery attempt at a Subway restaurant late Monday, Columbus police said.

The suspect entered the restaurant at 3590 Buena Vista Road about 10:45 p.m. Monday as an employee was counting money at the cash register. Acting like he had a weapon in his waistband, the suspect demanded cash, reports state.

Police say the employee told the suspect he couldn’t get inside the register. The suspect then ran from the store without taking any money.

No one was injured, reports state.

The suspect is a black man who wore all black clothing and had a black skull cap over his face. Police have no further description.
