Opelika police are investigating the Wednesday night shooting of a business owner as a homicide.
Officers responded about 8:15 p.m. CDT to a gunshot victim at 1011 First Ave. and found Walter Cade Spratlin, 46, shot multiple times. Spratlin, who owns Cade’s Custom Exhaust & Muffler, was lying on the floor of his business. He was pronounced dead at the scene, Opelika Police Capt. Bruce DeLong said.
“At this time there is no motive for the crime and there is no suspect,” DeLong said.
The homicide is under investigation.
