Army Ranger accused of damaging, urinating on front door of The Loft

An Army Ranger was arrested over the weekend on accusations he damaged and urinated on the front door of a downtown business.

Nicholas Paul Vardaro, 26, was charged with criminal trespass and disorderly while intoxicated, Columbus police said.

According to reports, an officer working downtown early Saturday spotted Vardaro standing at the front door of The Loft talking to two women through the door. At some point, Vardaro grabbed the front door handle, damaging the door’s glass paneling in the process.

The two women later told police that Vardaro was urinating on the glass door as he talked to them, reports state.

Police say they then took Vardaro into custody.
