Police stop man for traffic violation, found with prescription pills

A man stopped for traffic violations late Tuesday was found with prescription pills, Columbus police said.

Anthony G. Johnson Jr., 19, is charged with two drug counts and one count each of reckless driving and drugs not being in their original container, reports state.

According to police, Johnson was spotted about 10 p.m. Tuesday driving north on Veterans Parkway at 54th Street. Johnson didn’t stop at a red light. Instead, he skidded up to the intersection before quickly accelerating through it.

Police say they clocked Johnson going more than 80 mph in a 45 mph zone. He was stopped and arrested for reckless driving. Officers then found 10 Opana pills, three Hydrocodone pills and nine other pills worth a total of $320.
