A Valley, Ala. man was shot and killed Tuesday night during a domestic shooting in Beulah, investigators with the Lee County Sheriff's Office said.
According to a sheriff's office news release, officers responded to a call about a domestic shooting at a home on Lee Road 275 at around 10:04 CST and found William Wendall Kellum lying on the side of the road a short distance from the home. Investigators said Kellum was shot once in his chest.
Witnesses at the scene told police that Kellum, who was temporarily living on the property, had gotten into an argument with the home owner prior to the shooting. After being shot, Kellum fled the scene and collapsed on the side of the road, police said.
Investigators retrieved a .380 hand gun believe to be used in the shooting.
