Woman accused of being drunk, screaming at convenience store customers

A woman accused of being drunk and screaming at convenience store customers was arrested earlier this week, Columbus police said.

Jeanette James, 48, was charged Tuesday with disorderly while intoxicated, reports state.

According to police, James was at Mystic Food Mart, 645 Brown Ave., about 4 p.m. Tuesday. Police responded to the store after someone called about James being disruptive.

Police say James was screaming at two people as they walked to the store. The store’s owner then told officers he wanted James to leave because she was harassing customers.

Reports state the officer tried to speak with James, but that he couldn’t because she was acting disorderly. He then arrested James and took her to the Muscogee County Jail.
