No one was injured in a Third Avenue house fire this morning, Columbus Fire & EMS officials said.
Firefighters responded to 4231 Third Ave. about 7:35 a.m. They found the fire confined to the structure, and they brought it under control in less than five minutes, said Battalion Chief Scott Boatner.
“It started in the basement, but we’re still looking at it,” Boatner added.
A woman and her daughter were inside the home at the time, though they escaped with no injuries. No other structures were damaged, Boatner said.

The home’s front appeared undamaged by the fire. Wisps of smoke could be seen escaping from the roof earlier today, though the roof appeared untouched by any flame.
Boatner said he had no estimate of damage done to the home or its contents at this time.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
