A Columbus man was arrested on drug charges after police spotted him sitting in the Club Paradise parking lot early Wednesday, reports state.
Emanuel Z. Martin, 28, is charged with Violation of the Georgia Controlled Substance Act, possession of marijuana, obstruction of an officer and an open container violation, police said.
According to reports, officers spotted Martin about 2 a.m. Wednesday sitting in a car with a woman in the parking lot of the 3628 Victory Drive club. The officers approached to speak with the couple and they noticed the scent of marijuana coming from the car.
Martin told officers marijuana was in the vehicle. Martin then got out of the car and ran from officers when they started to search him, reports state.

Police say they caught Martin, who resisted being put in handcuffs. Officers later found almost $300 worth of suspected marijuana and $25 worth of suspected cocaine in the car.
A Styrofoam cup filled with gin and juice also was found in the car, police said.
