Columbus police: Two women punch, pepper-spray 13-year-old girl

Two 21-year-old women were arrested Saturday after they assaulted a 13-year-old girl in the parking lot of Springfield Apartments on North Lumpkin Road, Columbus police said.

The incident at the 3320 N. Lumpkin Road apartments happened about 10 p.m. Saturday, officers said.

Police were dispatched to a reported "domestic dispute." The girl, a Marshall Middle School student, told investigators she was punched and pepper-sprayed on her face and body.

Charged with simple battery, a misdemeanor, were Maryiah Wynn of Columbus and Brianca Brown of Phenix City, officers reported. Police disclosed no motive for the incident, nor any other details.
