Two men are in the hospital after opening fire on each other late Tuesday outside a Huntwood Drive home, Columbus police said.
Efrem Bernard Tate, 46, is in critical condition at The Medical Center after being shot in the torso. A 19-year-old man was shot in the face, though he is in good condition and under observation at the hospital, Sgt. Lance Deaton said.
The men opened fire on each other just before midnight during an argument outside the Huntwood Drive home, police said.
“(Tate) fired at the other one,” Deaton said. “When the other one was struck with a round, he picked up a weapon and fired back. Both of them were shot.”

Police don’t know what the men were arguing about. Neither lives at the home, Deaton said.
Tate faces an aggravated assault charge when he’s discharged from the hospital. The younger man faces no charges, Deaton said.
