A woman arrested Tuesday on 20 counts of forgery cashed checks worth $14,200 over several months, Columbus police said.
Melisa Janay Evans, 22, was charged about 2:20 p.m. Tuesday at her Clairmont Road home, reports state.
According to police, Evans cashed numerous stolen checks between Oct. 11, 2011, and March 26 at TIC Credit Union in Columbus.
The checks had been stolen from a Cross Country Hill home, reports state.

Evans is being held at the Muscogee County Jail under bond.
