A teen initially held in a youth detention center on child molestation and attempted rape charges was booked Tuesday into the Muscogee County Jail.
Jordan Lias was 16 in October when he allegedly held a 12-year-old girl against her will inside an old concession stand at Belvedere Park. Charged as an adult, Lias was held at a youth detention center because someone must be at least 17 to be booked into jail.
Lias’ 17th birthday was Tuesday. His case has not yet reached trial.
A codefendant in the case, 17-year-old Quintin Elijah Palmer, was convicted in March of attempted rape, child molestation and false imprisonment. A jury acquitted him of aggravated child molestation, aggravated sexual battery, enticing a child for indecent purposes and attempted aggravated sodomy.
